I love animals, drawing, rolepaying, pretty things, strawberry milk, and a bunch of anime and manga (mostly oldschool stuff, like Osamu Tezuka's Black Jack).
Aww, thanks! Well, I only know about Bedouin through what I learned from school. I have little first hand experience, precisely because I’m of mixed blood! ^^; I don’t go back to any tribe. I can teach a bit about the culture of ancient Arabia, though, if you’d like! I don’t know how much you know, though…
I studied a lot of Arabic literature, which is also how we learn our history, since Arabs were previously illiterate, but they had a rich oral tradition of poetry and speeches… poetry was how we conveyed news and history to one another and immortalized events and people. ^^ For this reason, poets also had a great standing in their tribes! The greatest poems would be the Mu’allaqat (the Suspended Ones) which were written in gold on the Ka’ba’s cloth in pre-Islamic times.
So, I’d like to help if I can, but I wouldn’t call myself a first-person source. ^o^;

I drew Pinoko. I’m not sure if you guys have noticed, but I’m utterly obsessed with Black Jack and you should all read it.
SO ADORABLE. Love the style~!
Seconding this recommendation. <3
Something was bound to break sooner or later.
N-no, kids, that’s not quite it…

Sumiko: Was it really you at the bookstore back then?
Shiratori: Did you finally remember me? Since long before these children were born I have been in love with you.
A-awwww, Shiratouri, how sweet.
I’m so glad he stopped lying to her.
