Friendly reminder that Ash once got out of captivity, tackled an evil professor in the gut so he was sent flying into a wall and knocked unconscious, then grabbed hold of a robotic arm, tore it off and smashed a high-tech computer with it.

Ooh, this looks cool! Apparently, Kibago’s in some trouble and heeey, it’s the Zoroark episode we heard about! Yay, transformations.
Why is it always Joi/Joy that get caught up in these creepy things?
Okay, I’m going to take a shot in the dark and guess from the preview that Joi-san took in an injured/sick Zorua to treat it and its mother or father lost it and is kidnapping(?)/attacking/transforming into people to try and get it back because it doesn’t know what’s going on. Hijinks ensue! Sort of like the Zoroark movie, only with no ill intent or manipulation involved, just a misunderstanding.
… or something.
This season is foooooooooooooooooooooood.
Alternatively, the Decolora arc is about Satoshi and friends happily eating and drinking yummy-looking treats.

みんなの笑顔に 何度助けられただろう
all of your smiles have saved me countless timesありがとう ありがとう Best Friend
thank you, thank you, Best FriendBased on the song “Best Friend” by Kiroro. I’ve done my own translations in the cut below, but others exist.
(full comic under the cut)
Read the whole thing. ;O;
N: On the other hand, thinking of the Light Stone as nothing more than a research object… comes from the belief that Pokemon exist to submit to humans. In my opinion, that’s what makes humans arrogant.
Satoshi: No way…
N: Am I wrong?
Satoshi: I don’t know about submitting or making them submit, but… one thing is certain: to me, Pokemon are very precious friends.
(From BWS2EN 12: The White Ruins! Satoshi VS N!!)
N: Ever since I parted ways with you guys, I’ve been wondering… why Helena and Verbena deny humans and… on the other hand, why Pokemon get so attached to you.
(From BWS2EN 12: The White Ruins! Satoshi VS N!!)
Satoshi’s surprised expression is adorable too. I just really love this scene.

“Trip is a very underrated rival for stupid reasons.”Aw, I’m sure there are genuine reasons to dislike him! Like, how poorly handled his league battle was (then again, the league was in general quite a bit rushed— seems like the writers were more interested in the following Episode N arc), his sporadic appearances, and his inconsistent nature.
But I think that last part is also part of his appeal: it’s very interesting having a character who goes out of his way to act counter to his nature, his inconsistency is part of his appeal, I think. That and I like that he’s pretty asocial without veering all the way into antisocial jerk territory as much as Shinji did (except when he gets an inflated ego xD;).
That and he was the cutest baby as a child, I think we can all agree on that front.
Hating him for being a palette-swapped Shinji and assuming he’s a rehash (despite being VERY different in personality once you see more of him), though… not a very good reason, I don’t think.I think some people hated him because they insisted on seeing him as a “main rival”? And were disappointed that he didn’t act like one… but he clearly never was in the first place.
Shigeru and Shinji both had something tying them to Satoshi and his progression throughout the original series / Diamond&Pearl. They were two ways of presenting a “rivalry” - on a strictly personal scale as for Shigeru (it was always a matter of proving themselves in front of the other, of dealing with a part of their past they shared (Shigeru knows Masara Town, knows Satoshi, knows Hanako, Kenji, Ookido) and suffered from, given that they were initially “osananajimi”), and on a more professional scale with Shinji (their ways of dealing with their Pokémon, the way they acted to reach their goal). So, two days of dealing with a relationship of rivalry: the private relationship, and the public relationship.
But Shooti… Shooti has nothing to prove and nothing tying him to Satoshi. He states early on that his goal is Adeku; and it stayed Adeku. So, I reaaaaally wasn’t surprised that, as soon Shooti managed to deal with his issues (at the Junior Cup), he battled Satoshi at the very beginning of the Isshu tournament: because he is a recurring character, a pretty likeable one, but there wasn’t anything at stake when it came to him and Satoshi. He is just a beginner trying to find his own way, making some mistakes sometimes, feeling humiliated/disappointed when his idol treated him as a joke, trying to act like a more mature trainer than he is – still without hurting his Pokémon (the way they *love* him is beautiful) but risking to hurt himself in the process. It got better, Adeku calmed him down, but that wasn’t Satoshi’s doing. So, a character showing how youngsters can deal with the whole beginning-thing and having his side-quest during the Best Wishes! saga!
That’s Best Wishes! as a whole: no “main rivalry” but many recurring characters more or less friendly, all of them acting as rivals AND auxiliaries at different moments.
(Ahahaha, and I’ve been working on a post, lately, about the different “main rivalries” Satoshi’s experienced – so about the different treatments of Shinji and Shigeru as seen by a PalletShipper who also ships ComaS (/likes both relations anyway) (for strictly different reasons) but wants to sob out loud when fanworks confuse the kind of relationship they share.)
